Hello,

I'm trying to add a printer to a laptop which is not on the domain.

I can set up the networked printers fine, but the printer they want to connect to is actually a local printer on one of the domain client desktops, which is shared.

All normal workstations can see and use this printer no problem.

The lap top when trying to add the printer, after putting in the connect box \\computername\printername

a windows logon box appears, but it doesn't matter if I use the domain admin credentials, the local machine admin or even the domain account for the user who's desktop PC it is, it refuses to connect saying 'operation could not be performed'.

Any ideas why this is happening and how I can resolve it.

Thanks,
