Hello,
at work i have installed the eval version crystal 9 and i cannot connect to the standart Access repository. When i open the repository explorer there comes a prompt for user and pass. Also in the ODBC settings for the repository DB when i click on "repair database" i get a message of invalid DB format. If i create a new one with the ODBC driver i get still the prompt for user and password. I don't know much about ODBC and Access databases. I hope it's a stupid known problem and easy to solve. For information i'm planning to use a Gupta database for repository. When i try it i still get the user prompt. Standard user and pass by Gupta (sysadm/sysadm) doesn't work. Any help is very much appreciated!

The repository is accessed via an ODBC connection (called 'Crystal Repository') - the underlying database can be stored locally or on a network, shared or not shared and of ANY ODBC compliant database (not just MS Access). Obviously, if you use a different database other than the MS Access example that ships with Crystal, you'll need to create the database with the same data structure - I'm presuming you're aware of this seeing as you mention utilizing Gupta. I suspect the problem you are having is with the security on the MS Access database - there's a number of posts on Microsoft's website to do with MS Access security, and I've seen non-secured databases act the way you describe because of setup problems. Can you connect to the MS Access repository database with any other tools (MS Query, Crystal etc.) - and do they prompt you for a password when you do?
