Cannot connect to PS2002 using MSproj PRO

We have a user that has a domain account, however their PC is not a memeber of our domain. They can access the Project 2002 Server using PWA. However they cannot connect to Project Server with Project Professional. Here is the error message they are getting.


Connection failed:
SQL State: '01000'
SQL Server Error: 67
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]ConnectionOpen(CreateFile()).
Connection failed:
SQL State: '08001'
SQL Server Error: 67
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Client unable to establish connection


They are also being prompted for a sql server login which does not make sense since Project Server should perform all database functions...Thank you to anyone that can offer some insight.....Tav

Hi tavie,

I have a similar error to yours however my error is 2 and 6 instead of 67.

The solution for the problem is quite lengthy.
