Hi,
I recently set up a mail server on redhat 6.2, which already had sendmail as the SMTP. I uncommented pop2 and pop3 and imap4 from inetd.conf and restarted inet and I was able to send and recieve emails from the linux box.
But I want to be able to send and receive emails with outlook on a pc, but it fails to connect. I have tried to telnet to pop3 server on port 110 but no success. I have even given permission of ALL: ALL in hosts.allow.
Here is the message from outlook express:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'XXXX', Server: 'XXXXX', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
Any views on how I can resolve this.
Many Thanks.
Ash
