Cannot Connect to Merlin using WinsPM

Hi,

Thank in advance for reading this.

We had a power failure two weeks ago and the WinSPM cannot to connect to the merlin anymore. I reseat all ports and cables already and restarted the merlin but still cannot connect.

Please help. Thank you!

This does not sound good, at least as far as your built in RS-232 Port goes.

From the ADMIN CONSOLE, go into Maintenance and try to reset all RS-232 Ports and see if that helps.

There may be another way to use SPM w/o the built in port.

But, try this first.

If you have an 012 or 016 Basic Telephone Card, you can use your PC's modem connected to either the 012 or 016 card as an alternative to the admin port on the processor. When you fire up WinSPM, look at the connections options and you will see this alternative connection via modem as an option. The "help" screens will assist you in configuring your PC's modem.
