cannot connect to localhost

My localhost connection suddenly stopped working. It was working earlier today, and then it quit. When I went to Windows settings and looked at services, I found that MySQL was not running. I tried to start it and got error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly. I tried rebooting the computer to no avail.

What can I do to get it running again?

you should have a log file in your mysql directory ending in .err , open it in notepad and see whats causing the problem.
