I am trying to set up a K175 phone and cannot get it to connect to internet nor my laptop I have connected to LAN1. Here is what I have set up so far.
What's weird is the Voicemail to email works but it is sending to my local relay server at 192.168.100.4 but I cannot get connected to internet. What am I missing? My gateway is 192.168.100.250 Thanks

LAN1: 192.168.42.0/255.255.255.0 DHCP Server enabled
LAN2: 192.168.100.10/255.255.255.0
IP Route: 0.0.0.0/255.255.255.0/GW:192.168.100.250/LAN2

Tracert doesn't get past 192.168.42.1

ALSO, what app do I need to install on the K175 so it has phone capabilities? I thought it would come preloaded.

What do you see in settings - network - ethernet - IP interface ? This should show the IP address assigned to the phone and router.
Also network - network mode needs to be set to ethernet and not wifi if you are using a wired connection.

Avaya keep on changing their mind about the phone app but the basic one is now Vantage Connect. You'll need to download the files from Avaya as these are not included on the SD card. As you can see from my other thread I'm still having issues so be prepared for some fun ...

DNS? (Just guessing)... [ponder]

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*
*(Disclaimer for all advise given)--'Version Dependent'

The phone is set to ethernet, it has ip and dns. Also, dns is set to google dns servers but I cannot ping from lan side using my laptop to anything on the wan side.

You have your LAN port handing out DHCP but you have an IP route only for the gateway through the WAN port. If your phones are on 192.168.42.X subnet a gateway on 192.168.100.250 subnet isn't likely to get the phone to hit the internet. The reason your voicemail to email is working is because it is going out the WAN port which is on the same subnet as the relay server so it routes without even needing a gateway(but it does have one).

Why do you need internet on a K175 phone? You can setup a local HTTP server (I use fenix myself) to serve the files to the phone.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

I guess I am a little confused by the question why k175 needs internet? it has browser and play store, how would it access these without the internet?

I would never use a K175 for anything other then sitting in a lobby and calling reception to open a door. They are one of the biggest POS phones ever created. If you are trying to use this as a regular desk phone expect your customer to complain.

You do not need internet for the phone to call extensions or be a phone. You really aren't supposed to be using the android apps the phone is already dog slow just trying to run its own software...

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

UC recognised Vantage as going beyond the traditional endpoint solution by becoming a ‘collaboration hub’, unlocking greater workplace productivity."

Please explain how a slow as dirt, half arsed product, unlocks greater workplace productivity lol

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

it's such a pain in the ass to set up and the 350 page manual is ridiculous. I'll scrap it, I get the hint.

Wise decision they really are terrible. Having to host a HTTP server just to serve firmware, needing all this special setup, only to have a all but worthless phone that is slower then the first smart phone I ever owned. Simply not worth the trouble. I think I actually hate these more then UCMs!

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Let me recap if I get this right

1. you have the K175 on the LAN1 interface
2. the actual Internet access is via LAN 2 and the gateway setup in there

if that is correct then you need to add something outside the IP Office programming into the router / firewall / gateway (192.168.100.250)
an IP route 192.168.42.0 mask 255.255.255.0 GW:192.168.100.10 (IP Office IP address of LAN2)
otherwise the connection gets swallowed on the LAN2 gateway as it has no return path to the originator network of 192.168.42.x
