I have a windows 7 laptop that I cannot connect to an internal network, including accessing my router. My laptop can connect to the internet both wirelessly and wired, and my desktop can connect to the router or other internal IP addresses but not the laptop. Any help would be great.

perhaps a little more info would help? As in what are you trying to do? what happens when you do it? and what have you already tried? did you make sure they are both on the same workgroup, with the same password? and if it's windows 7, why post it in the vista forum?

I don't see a windows 7 forum so I thought this would be the closest. Here is the scenario:
I have a basic 4 port wireless router in my home office connected to the internet.
Port 1 goes to my home computer
Port 2 goes to an IP based phone system (192.168.0.200)
Port 3 goes to a digital gateway (192.168.?)
Port 4 goes to a IP phone number (talk and save)

If I go to my home computer I can enter the IP address 192.168... and access either the phone system, gateway or router.
If I use my laptop I get page "cannot be displayed". I use port 4 When using the wired option.
Hope this helps.

Also, go to the search box at the very top of the page, type "Windows 7" and change the dropdown to "Find a Forum" and Search

Have you tried the ip reset/winsock reset scripts? One or both have resolved the problems for me.

Thank you all for your help. After going thru the process of resetting my winsoc and ip scripts and restarting I remembered that my laptop was using internet explorer. After downloading and running Firefox I can now access the router and phone system. Internet explorer still says "page cannot be displayed" but that is fine with me.
