I have a BEFVP41 (version 1) I cannot connect to AOL. In a version 2 router there is a choice to select a (AOL parental controls), but there is not this choice on a version 1 router. Does anyone know how o get around this?
I could connect and use Internet explorer, but not AOL.

Thanks for reading,

Erik

And the downside is....?

I personally do not use AOL, but some of my clients do. Their main concern is the parental controls.

The AOL controls are firmware specific, hardware specific, and likely something that Linksys should not have involved itself in to begin with.

AOL itself has a Content Screen, as does IE. And as well a lot of third-party software at modest cost.

For a Version 1 router BEFVP41 it is not a feature you are likely ever to see.

And Linksys had enough problems (as did others) with the peculiar way in which AOL decided to implement broadband, with a quite frankly bizarre MTU below 1430. I doubt any of the small consumer class router manufacturer's have anything nice to say about AOL.

Thanks,

BCaster, your feeling are the same as mine, I just wanted to hear it in someone else's text.

Thanks,

Erik
