Hi,

we changed the hardware on a dedicated storage node and now I have to (re-)configure the drives.

But:
I see the tape drives under "devices" in the gui (just unconfigured), but I cannot configure them.
I got the message "cannot create device, storage node enabler required". For dedicated storage nodes are free enabler available.
I tried also by jbedit => same result.

The drives a part of the Librarie on the Networker server.

Networker Server & Storage Node ar on 7.3.2 Update1 on Windows 2003.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Whether you got an the license code for free or not - did you ever enter the (D)SN enabler at all?

If you create the device from the GUI, you have the oppertunity to select Dedicated storage node Yes/No on the Config tab. Unless you change this from default No, a request for a storage node license will be issued from networker.

I got the message "cannot create device, storage node enabler required" too on GUI.

I tried to reconfigured by "jbconfig" on the command line, but need to delete those autochanges and tape drives under "devices" on GUI first.

The solution is to configure the drive manually after the scan. (Drives => New)

Thna you can set the flag "DedicaTed Storage Node" on a registry card.
