Cannot clear history

IE6 on XP: I want to leave the AutoComplete Web Address option on but I want to clean up all history but I cannot do it.

I tried Option - Tools - Delete Cookies, Delete Files with all offline contents, Clear History;

Also tried AutoComplete - Clear Forms, Clear Passwords;

Also tried software - RegCleaner, Spybot, PC-Cillin for spyware and virus scan;

Also tried freeware - Internet History Cleaner 1.5, IE Privacy Keeper 2.7, iWash 2.5, Anti-Tracks 5.7.2

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Try disabling autocomplete, then quitting all instances on IE. Then starting IE and setting autocomplete back on. Does that fix it?

No luck. URL history are still there. Let say I type te..., it shows tek-tips.com automatically.

Any other ideas?

check your Registry under /MRU.

also Google indexdat suite and download it. it lets you delete all of your history files. be careful because it also can delete all cookies and some other things.

Try to clear Start menu history. I know, it is tricky but this is Microsoft Windows

For Windows XP right-click Taskbar, Properties -> Start Menu -> Customize -> Advanced -> Clear list
