I am setting up a Partner ACS4 system with PC card VM. I cannot set the number of rings of the auto attendant to answer. I have followed Avaya's wonderful document to the letter. Did they leave something out?

Thanks,

PConrad, CNE NCT

Well, we don't know what you tried, but here it is:

Assign the lines to the Auto Attendant: #206-7-XX-1 (where XX is the line number)

Set the VMS Hunt Schedule: #507-XX-N (where XX is the line number, and N is 1=Always 2=Day Only 3=Night Only)

Set the VMS Hunt Delay: #506-M-XX-N (where M is the mode [1=Day/2=Night], XX is the line number, and N is the number of rings from 0 to 9)

Thanks,

I figured it out from an earlier post. I f I set the lines to option 3 VMS cover VM doesn't work. But when I set it to 1 assigned, it started working. What is the VMS cover option for anyway?

It is used along with the "Line Owner" option of VS Mail, Partner Mail, and Partner Messaging to have a line answered by a mailbox instead of the Automated Attendant.

On PC card mail, that is not an option, so you would accomplish the same by using Call Cover (#208-XX-NN, where XX is the line number and NN is the extension number). You also have to be sure the line is assigned to the extension with immediate ring.
