Has anyone ever seen this? 7.6.200.5 MS SQL. This is happening when they try to print to screen.

My first thought is that there are 99 screen.tmp files in the data folder and the system can't create another one. Another thing I remember is something with the MacCom.dll file being the wrong date. I can't find the correct dated one in any of my emails but someone at Exact Support had referenced that file.

Also - make sure they have a data directory for the SQL company e.g. SQL company 2, there must be a data_02 folder (like Pervasive/Btrieve) so that Macola has somewhere to put the screen.tmp files.

This was a .dll problem where some .dlls do not get installed in the 7.6.200 upgrade. This was a known bug I am told, but it does not happen 100% of the time.

I had lots of problems with one particular workstation at one site that was pervasive 2000i/Novell 5.1 & then again when we moved to win2003 server/mssql. The user had a win2k workstation & then an xp workstation. There was something with that user's profiles that just wouldn't play well with macola. In the end, we formatted the user's hard drive & reinstalled everything & all worked again. Perhaps it was the order in which apps were installed? Nothing macola suggested helped including downloading numerous fixes for both 7.6.200 & then again for 7.6.200.5. Perhaps of note, this particular workstation was one I used to install the update to 7.6.200 & I had many problems on it, including flaky screen behavior. I would have thought that a fresh xp workstation would have behaved itself, but once the workstation was configured for this user, it started misbehaving again. It was very frustrating for my client & I couldn't find any good explanations for them.

check out infomine 07,225,250. It is this error, but referenced as a 7.6.300 fix. Maybe the correction will work on 7.6.200 as well?

Don:

What DLL's were replaced? I have one workstation out of 12 that produces this error on 7.6.200.

To be honest I don't know. I was on the road and Amy fixed this remotely. You can email Amy from our website if you'd like.

We are having this problem as well with ver 7.6.200.5 Does anyone know if the bug fix 'MacolaHelp' suggested works with versions other than 7.6.300? Will it hurt anything to try it?

Make sure also that you don't have screen*.tmp files in the data directory that is a problem. I did reinstall fonts on one workstation that I had problems with on sql 7.6.200.5 & it did fix the screen printing problem I had. I couldn't reinstall all fonts as some were in use, but once I did the screen printing problem was relieved.
