I am having a problem resolving/connecting to devices on the corporate LAN. I can ping servers by name and it will resolve. I cannot browse the network neighborhood, map a drive (using IP or name) or connect to Exchange with Outlook. Any ideas?

If you are testing from the same subnet that the external nic is on, you will experience problems. If this is the case, stick some sort of router in between your client and external nic on the fw to create a seperate subnet and try the connection again.

Hello there, first of all ARE YOU USING WIN2000?
The reason why I ask is that; I noticed I was unable to view the Network neighbourhood once Symantec/Raptor mobile client was installed.

Solution: Click Start-Settings-Control Panel-Network Dial Up connection-local area connection. Untick Symantec/Raptor Mobile.
Close the local area connection box.
Now try the Network Neighborhood. The users on the network should be displayed. You could create a shortcut of the local area connection to save you time going into Control Panel.Hope this works for you.Cheers Lambe

Lambe is right on.....I had the same issue on Win2k and now Winxp Pro 'A world without donuts is like a donut without a hole.......wait that would mean more donut! I'm a Genius' Homer Simpson

The vpn client drops all broadcast traffic which is what MS uses. Make sure that the ports are set to wide open on the vpn client through the gui. Also remember that network browsing, in it's own right, has problems. You may want to think about using a lmhosts file and preloading wins and pdc or dc. Also, you will probably need to do this if you are not running a wins server.

I'm having the same problem on a windows XP Pro system, what do you mean by "untick" Symantec/Raptor Mobile?

Also, the 200R (192.168.1.1) is connected to a 100 (192.168.3.1). I've got a tunnel to the 1.x subnet form the client. How can i see (ping) the 3.1 subnet from the vpn client?
