I have read the various articles on booting from a CD after downloading Solaris 10, but I still have a problem where after downloading 10 and burning onto a CD, my Ultra 10 (at Sol 8) does not find a boot file on the CD, and fails to boot.
My method was:
- download onto windows XP m/c (I don't have internet comms from Ultra 10)
- ftp (bin format) the ISO.zip file onto unix for unzipping (the iso.zip file is not a windows zip)
- after unix unzipping, ftp (bin) back to Windows m/c and Nero burn onto a CD (tried both types of burn ie. data and boot file)
- messages are: bad magic number in disk label, can't open disk label package irrespective which burn is used
Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated.
