Can anyone please tell me if they have issues backing up a server (specifically the System State Data) in a child domain? We are running BE 8.6 Rev 3878. The BE server sits in the parent domain. In the parent, there are no issues backing up any of the boxes. The issues happen when I try to back any of the servers in the children domain. Normally, this is the error that I get when I try to back the SSD of a child:

======================================================================
Unable to initialize Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 - performing standard backup
System State requires Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 for backup and restore

-----------------------------------------------------------

The Remote Agent is installed and running.

This is the error that I get when I try to back just data in a child domain:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Unable to initialize Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 - performing standard backup
WARNING: Media servers cannot completely protect remote
Windows 2000 servers or workstations unless the Backup
Exec Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 is installed
and running on each remote Windows 2000 server or
workstation to be protected. Data loss can occur if the
Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 is not running
while backing up remote Windows 2000 computers.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The data does get backed up but still lists as a failure.

The Service account that I use for the backups is an Enterprise Admin/Schema Admin/Domain Admin at the Root of the Forest and in the Administrators group on the child domain.

Does anyone else have this issue? I have been on the phone non-stop with Veritas and they are not able to help me. It has been escalated to the 4th level.

Anyone, anywhere having this issue? Know a solution?

Thanks.
