Hi,

Everytime that an employee tries to attach a file to a groupwise message from the network their groupwise locks up. And then they lose the connection to the network drive. When the restart they have a connection to the network drive but file that they tried to attach is locked and if they try to access it their connectio is lost to the network again. Everytime this happen the server has to be restarted in order to clear up the locked files b/c I cannot unlock them amnually. I am running Windows 2000 Pro and Groupwise 5.5 and Novell 4.80.SP3.

Thanks

Hi,
Sounds as a bad Netware client.
Deinstall the client with the deinstaller in the admin folder of the client32 software, reboot, install the client again.

Did you remember to install WMSNT (Windows Messaging System)before installing GroupWise? This is a must!!!

Good Luck!

Hi,

I do have the complete WMSNT installed. I will try to do a reinstall and see if tht helps.

Make sure to do a complete uninstall of GroupWise, then the Windows Messaging System. You may want to use the GroupWise Cleaning Agent to completely remove GroupWise from the workstation.

Then do your re-install of WMS and then GroupWise.

Just in case this doesn't work, take the NetWare Client out of the picture. Uninstall the NetWare Client and attempt to connect to the GroupWise PO via TCPIP (Modify the GroupWise desktop shortcut...
c:\novell\grpwise\grpwise.exe /ipa-<IP_ADDR> /ipp-1677)
...and see if you still have the same problem.

Good Luck!
