cannot adjust Acer AL2017 LCD monitor

I just bought an Acer AL2017 and cannot make changes to the settings. When I use the controls at the bottom of the screen, the < and > just move from one setting to another.

I thought that this monitor would behave like most of my other ones. When I select a setting like contrast, the < and > would move the setting for me.

Not sure what the question has to do with hard drives but there's probably another button on the monitor for actually going into the setting, after which left + right will change the value.
