Cannot add to anything in my newly created WSS site

I'm to the point where I am seeing my site main page with the Announcements, Events, Shared Docs, etc.

The SQL database is visible in the SQL Server Enterprise manager.

I go to add something to the Announcements and it shows me the New Announcement screen, but the fields are not there to enter information into.

Sharepoint configuration analyzer is telling me "Cannot locate site information for '/newsite/'. You must supply a valid site colleciton path"

Ok, so this kinda tells me the system is looking for a place to store the data that a user would enter and since it can't, it's not showing me the fields in the New Announcement screen.

What do I need to do to specify a site collection path?

Weird... I said "screw it" and uninstalled WSS and then re-installed it and now it's working fine...
