cannot add new user 2

Windows 2000 professional workstation
Windows Nt 4.0 service pack 6 primary domain controller
I am trying to add a new user to a workstation. This machine was previously on the domain with a different user name. I deleted the old user name and when I try to add the new user I get the message:

The user could not be added because the following error has ocurred:
The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.

Can anyone offer suggestions?

I've seen this before. You firstly need to remove the Machine from the domain and put it in a workgroup then remove the machine from the domain using server manager on the NT server. Now rejoin the domain and your problem should be sorted. Let me know how you get on
