Cannot add 2nd copy of same table
Twice, recently, using Crystal Reports 2008 Database – Database Expert… I’ve added a 2nd copy of an ORACLE table to a CR. The table is named with a _1 suffix but I have been unable to establish a link because, after clicking OK and refreshing the report, I get 2 error messages:
Failed to retrieve data from the database.
AND
Data Connector Error: ‘If tables are already linked then the join type cannot change.’
No records are displayed.
In past years I’ve easily established links to 2nd copies of Oracle tables; what gives?

Hi,
What type of join, and, if LEFT OUTER, are you applying any criteria to the right-hand table? ( That would force a change to an EQUI join which may be triggering that error)

SHRDGMR had already been linked to SPRADDR:
Left outer join Enforce Join Not Enforced Link Type =
SHRDGMR is then linked to the “new” table, SPRADDR_1 the same way:
Left outer join Enforce Join Not Enforced Link Type =
I’ve also tried simply linking the new (2nd) copy of SPRADDR without changing link options:
Inner join Enforce Join Not Enforced Link Type =
Does that answer your question? Thank you.
