I have sharepoint running on the same server as the WSUS.
now I cannot access the WSUS admin site again. this was okay before the installation of checkpoint. Each time I try I receive the error message:

"Access denied
Network policy settings prevent you from accessing this Windows Server Update Services server.

If you believe you have received this message in error, please check with your system administrator."

Please help

kill/disable the sharepoint service. Try WSUS now.
IF that works, I seem to recall reading something similar, randomly, somewhere, that if you install Sharepoint on a different logical or physical drive than the MSWSUS, but still on the same server, it should work, however I dont ever remember seeing a reason why, or any suggestions as to the problem.

Hope this helps

I had the same thing with a SUS installation and it wasn't to do with SPS.

Can't remember what the fix was. Looking now...

Is the machine a DC?

If I remember correctly this is just an IIS setting. Open IIS Manager and then find the SUS Admin web site. Bring up the properties. Directory Security > Authentication and Access Control > Edit.

Is anonymous access enabled? If so, disable it and make sure authenticatd access is set to Windows Integrated.

Pretty sure that was the fix.
