A software engineer promoted a standard asp.net page default.aspx to our WSS 2003 server and since then we cannot access the default home page of SharePoint. We can access the sub sites, document libraries etc. but not the top site home page. It seems his default.aspx file overwrote SharePoints. We have not any direct changes to a SharePoint default.aspx file so is there a standard one one we could replace the lost one with and where would it go?

Here is the error message when accessing the home page:

I have done this before, only using WSS v3. I tryed to play around with the default.master. Basically the rendering of the main site page has taken a jit here.
Q. Can you get the original default.master, default.aspx and restore them?

Where would I find the default.master or default.aspx for a SharePoint site?
