I am taking over a Nortel BCM 400 V4.0

I cannot access the web portal from either lan 1 or lan 2
I can access the serail port and can only change settings for lan1

Lan 2 is currently in use for the phones.

Thought it was a service not running so completed via serial a clean reboot and still cannot login.

I completed an Nmap scan of the unit and get the following ports open
Discovered open port 1720/tcp on 192.168.1.99

I have tried accessing the ssh and upon user ID it dumps saying cannot authenticate the user that works under serial
port 8088 responds to https but only gives the following

I am stuck on this one

Tried using FF20 and IE 8 both with updated java

Firebird,

We were brought on to manage the system and also deal with pri change over and could not access any part of the system even the download that is usually on the system for managing extensions.

Thanks for the link I will try this out

Firebird,

That is the problem I cannot gain access to that on Lan 1 or lan 2 the system is not responding to web-requests to download the BEM since the administrator app page will not even display on this unit.

Does the system use Call Pilot?. If so, does it work?. Failure of LAN port and Call Pilot access tends to be either a Hard Disk or power unit problem.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Chance the last vendor changed the IP address ?

Do you have any bcm experience ?

I have some BCM exp the previous vendor they had used had replaced the drive and the client informed us at that time they could no longer manage the unit via the web portal

If you can't ping the BCM, but Call Pilot is working then it sounds as if the IP address was changed. Have you tried accessing the system via another computer?. Can you log into the BCM system via the serial port, I know that you can acces it?

You need a crossover cable to access a BCM 400. It could be at default. Lan 1 - 10.10.10.1 Lan 2 - 10.10.11.1. Make your PC's IP address 1 higher.

I am able to access serial and I have attached a screen shot of what I have access to when using the nnadmin account.
BCM-serial.JPG

The phones use lan1 - 192.168.1.99 is the BCM
Lan 2 not in use - 10.10.10.1

I cannot access the webpage of the unit on either IP address, that includes direct connect, I can ping it and element manager sees it on both networks when I connect.

The problem now is that on connect and/or verify from element manager I am getting an error

The requires catridge (bcm200.2.03a-0) is not currently installed. Please click 'ok' to begin catridge download.

I press ok and then I get this
The cartridge download failed. Cannot connect to this device.

All I know from taking over this site was that the hard drive had gone bad before and had been replaced (don't know who or when) the system has been running since then and the client cannot login to manage anything like they used to via the web portal.

The big issues is that they are migrating from cbeyond to comcast PRI and we have to pull the PRI channeling info and number setups from the system and cannot get into anything other then the serial which is a menu system.

Also I have already tried a reboot of the system with the same results afterward.

I am connecting via a laptop
running windows xp Sp3
using Element Manager 62.0.5

Default gateway is not on the same LAN subnet as the IP address in your screenshot. That error may take down the interface. Try correcting that error via serial console.

Your last message stataed that your element manager system requires the cartridge of bcm200.2.03a-0. Do you have this cartridge stored within the Element Manager folders of e.g.

C:\Users\David\.bcm\BEM\bin\registry\cartridges

If you don't have this cartridge, let me know and I'll email it to you.

David,

Can you email me the bcm200.2.03a-0 file as well as an other possibles since it looks like the unit is missing all cartidges from talking to it via element manager
