Hi all,
I've just installed MSL 8.2 but am having troubles accessing Server Manager via local network, I tried to access it via http:\\domain name\server-manager or via ip addreass but it doesn't work too, when I ping the ip addreass of the server in local network it replys with destination host unreachable. I am using Mitel Standard Linux 8.2, I am connecting the server via ethernet to the controller and my laptop to the controller too.

Controller is Cxi rel 4.2
Server Ip addreass 192.168.1.99
Laptop Ip addreass 192.168.1.100
Controller Ip addreass 192.168.1.6

Thank you in advance.

is your NIC driver set correctly? have you managed to put any blade on the MSL?

Am using two NICs one for global and the other for local network, how can I check wether NIC driver is installed correctly or not? No I am not able to install any blades yet,i am working on the internet connection,it has not been established yet.

Yeah, I ve tried that before, but its not working, the server is detecting the two NICs because when configuring the network parameters it says that I have 2 NICs.

log in as root and do

ifconfig

that should display the settings currently applied

Also route -n should display the gateway address

Do all these share the same subnet mask and gateway address ?

Controller is Cxi rel 4.2
Server Ip addreass 192.168.1.99
Laptop Ip addreass 192.168.1.100
Controller Ip addreass 192.168.1.6

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Thank you billz66 but, I ve tried both of these commands earlier, ifconfig shows only the loop back 127.0.0.1, no eth0,eth1.
Root -n does not show the gateway, it shows destination(blank),gateway(blank),genmask(blank)
I began to think that I ve a problem with nics drivers or the system is nit detecting them,so I run the command #lspci, I got a list of pci installed, from the list I found my two ethernet cards.but still cannot do any thing abou it.
Yes they all share the same netmask and gateway

What server are you loading this on ( hardware) is it on the list of supported servers?

I would suggest a reload of the msl as i don't think it has detected the NICS

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Just had a thought , did you load the server version of msl ? there is also a version for the APC card, maybe that doesnt have NOC drivers on it ?

On later versions of MSL , there was an option at the start to select the right one , but on older versions i think they were supplied seperately

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

yes about that,i am not using a "server" for MSL, I am using normal Desktop PC,HCL INFINITIL A380 pro, sorry i have been saying Server all the time,my mistake.

I have something to add on this, when i installed MSL, I used the command
linux all-generic-ide irqpoll pci=nommconf
Because at first,I couldnt get to boot from cd-rom,after using it I was able to install the software.could the problem be in here?

Firstly if its not loaded on MSL approved hardware then it wont be supported
Not being able to boot from the CD sounds more like a bios or CD issue.

You shouldn't have to enter commands such as that to get the software loaded

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
