I have one user who has a notebook who cannot access a specific share on a Windows 2003 server. His notebook is a windows XP sp 2 machine.
Problem is that this share on the network has security on it sothat only he can access it (and domain admins). When we try to connect the share the PC reports that the share is not available.
When we use any other PC and log on with his credentials there is no problem. I suspect things went wrong after he changed his password.
Any ideas?

If it lists the share but you cannot connect to it, I'd first of all right-click on the problem share/drive under My Computer... select Disconnect (to force a manual disconnect form the problem drive/share)... and then reboot.

If this was the problem, it will work after a reboot.

Most problems like this (especially ones with only part of the shares not working), are due to the local machine not completely disconnecting (or thinking it never completely disconnected) from the drive or share. Manually disconnecting it and then rebooting so the shares are remapped almost always works, from my experience.

Good luck.
