Hi
I got windows installed and thought I was all set. Except for
the fact I could not open the c or the e drive. When I clicked
on the drives I received this error message. C:\ resycled\boot.com is not a valid win 32 application.
Before I installed windows I unplugged the E drive to be certain I would not overwrite my E drive which is my backup drive.
I checked Computer Management and found a problem. The C is the E. Should I change the drive letters or change the HD settings in the bios.
I should mention I have a Sata HD as the C and a IDE drive as
the secondary HD.

All searches on this issue point to this being a trojan. Make sure your security software is up to date with all current definitions. The trojan puts an autorun.inf file at the root of all your drives and also creates a "resycled" folder which contains the boot.com file. The files are hidden by default. A combination of "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" and some registry editing seem to do the trick of getting rid of this problem. This is one of the better articles I came across that gives a good explaination of this trojan and how to get rid of it.
