I just started having a wierd problem with one of our DC. While attempting to access shadow copies I noticed that the server will not let me right click on any disk drives (C,D,or E). As soon as I right click on a disk under my computer the server temp. locks up for about 2 seconds and will never give me access to any of the right click menu options to include properties. I am not sure if this is a Microsoft issue or if it has somthing to do with the RAID array. Thanks for your time.

Have you checked the system event log to see if any disk errors are being generated?

Thanks for the reply, no disk errors in the event viwer but I do get Application errors with Event ID 1004 Category 100 and a description that says application error explorer.exe. Also Application Error Event ID 1004 Category 100 Application Error mmc.exe. After I reboot the server I get the send to Microsfot propts stating that windows Explorer and Microsoft Management Console encountered a problem and needed to close.

So it could be a problem with MMC itself then. Did you try replacing the MMC or upgrading to version 3.0 of the MMC?

After doing some reserch, I think I found the problem. Some time ago I installed the Microsoft Windows 2000 Resource Kit, according to Microsoft I need to uninstall the kit and the problem should go away. I will try that this afternoon and let you know.
