Problem accessing database, error code 40962. Any ideas?

I am assuming that you are running the Pervasive engine. It is a good idea to let us know your ACCPAC version, your engine and your OS when posting problems. They can all be factors. You can read faq222-2244 for information on how to get the most out of these fora.

All the notes that I have seen say that 40962 is caused by a misconfigured Pervasive engine or client, including such simple things as \Pvsw\Bin not being in the path. Check the pathing in the Autoexec.bat file. Make sure that the PVSW, Ca_appsw and ACCPAC folders are pathed correctly.

Determine that the PVSW\BIN is truly in the System Path (shell to a DOS prompt and type 'path', and determine that it is truly there). Just because its in the autoexec does not guarantee that its going to be in the system path.

There are other reasons for 40962 but the pathing is the most common fault. Whenever I see this error, a reboot is the first step, check the path is second and then an uninstall/reinstall is next.

Take Care,

zemp
