Cannot access address book through MAPI application

I have written a MAPI application that, until now has worked fine. We have an address book on our Exchange server that a user can access if they use Outlook to create a new mail message. But if the MAPI application is used to create the mail message, the user gets "The address book could not be opened".

Any ideas?
