I am using a Netscreen 5XP with OS4.0.3r3 and cannot access the internet. I have Adelphia cable modem plugged into UNTRUST, the TRUST port is plugged into a switch as are the PCs. UNTRUST is setup as a DHCP client and gets an IP from the cable modem. I can ping to and from between the PCs (all private) and TRUST interface. I cannot ping from the PCs or TRUST to the UNTRUST or Internet (no replies). Cannot ping from UNTRUST to the internet either. I cannot ping the UNTRUST from outside either (ping enabled). I used the WIZARD to create an outgoing policy (allow any out). There are no policies in the incoming section (untrust to trust). Could the firewall be blocking internet connectivity? Inet access works without the netscreen.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank You,

Port 25,

you tried taking a look in your routing table and or interface settings.

I.e. from the cmd line get route ip a.b.c.d (where this is the ip you are trying to ping)

or get route

also check get int unt and it should show you the ip settings it has.
