Canned Oracle interface loader doesn't handle record looping! Help me

We are using Oracle 8.something and are using the canned Oracle interface format to load EDI orders. Our customer sends us multiple note segments in the EDI (the notes can loop up to 200 times) and the canned interface that we are using won't load more than one record. If I send 5 1170 records, only the first one is loaded. I cannot believe that the interface loader cannot handle multiple records of the same record tag.

I was thinking that we could index each record when loading but this will require us to customize the interface loader. Any other ideas?
