Hi, I was performing the find and replace function. I hiligted a column and performed find "K" to replace with "L" and hit the "Replace All" button. At this moment, I'm not sure if that was what I did...because there is this poped up "File Not Found" window on my screen, and I can't cancel the job; if i hit "cancel" or close window, but the window wouldn't be disapeared. And I don't want to close the whole file, 'cus I didn't save my stuff.

Make the long story short, how can I just cancel my find and replace job without closing my file? Thank you!!

Long story short - you probably can't. AFAIK, there's no way to kill individual processes within Excel - you gotta nuke the whole program. Sorry!

In the interest of helping you avoid this in the future: did one of the columns you were working on contain formulas or links that referred to another workbook? You may have altered a file name with your search/replace.
