Cancel Report if Format Event raises Error?

I have a report with a Format event on the detail section. I would like to cancel the report if the Format event errors. Is there a way to do this?

I have added error checking in the Format event and can display a message, but I have not been able to cancel the report.

This may or may not help you, but it helped me. It would keep the report from opening if no data was found....which was creating error messages.
