...your ethernet card? I have heard people say to go into the Network settings and change it there but what would I change it to? How can I change my INTERNAL IP and still get my internet to work? Thanks.

BTW I am using Windows and IE, and have a DSL connection.

Cheers,:)
Nate

Your gateway entry is the one that’s important. This tells your system were to route DNS, IP, and other requests. Your DSL provider should give you a startup kit listing all the necessary configuration information. Clifford McCarthy

So are you saying it is possible to change your internal IP somehow?

Nate

Are you talking about a local LAN IP or your DSL IP? Please elaborate.

I am talking about my internal CPU IP, not my DSL or LAN IP.

Which windows OS are you using? You can use a private IP address value but you still need the DNS Name and Gateway information from you provider to have access to the internet.
