Can you use u2fxls.dll with Crystal 9

The excel export option in crystal 9 works differently from crystal 8.0. It appears to merge cells.

We install crxf_xls.dll along with exportmodeller.dll and crtslv.dll for excel export from crystal.

Crystal 8.0 used u2fxls.dll which looks like it did not do this cell merge.

Has anyone had any issues with the change between Crystal 8 and 9 and the excel export?
