I have a customer who has put black tape on all LCD because she does not want her employees to see caller ID. I cannot find a place to turn oof CI in Programming. Is it possible to turn off? thanks Ahead of time

Sincerely, thephoneboy

call the dial tone provider and cancel the service

Have the Auto Attendant answer the call with 0 ring delay then the CID will not get through

If you can't be good, be good at it!

whats the problem with the employees seeing the CID info ?

1. they do not have Voice mail.
2. It is a daycare and some of the teachers are being selective on whos call they will answer because of the caller ID.
3. Have a call in to the provider. Caller ID is part of a pakage.
4. All display phones are new and And I am sure that do not want to pay for a non display phone, it would be cheaper just to down grade the processor.

So I guess the answer is not you cannot turn off the caller ID on an ACS processor.

Thanks

Sincerely, thephoneboy

There is another option, but it will require purchasing at least 1 additional piece of hardware.

You could add an old 400E module to the system, connect the POTs line(s) to it and make the required programming changes.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Sounds like a management problem. Management should tell the teachers they are showing bad example by discriminating against the clients!

Some people come up with the most idiodic ideas! Seems like the society is getting dumber by the day!

fire a couple for not answering the phone in a timely manner and the problem will go away

The caller ID will work only if the extension is programmed to immediate ring or on a transfer call. A cheap work around might be to turn off ringing at phones where screening is an issue and install a chime or bell. Person can still answer the phone by pressing the line button.

Have the carrier block caller ID. Just because it's part of the package, doesn't mean they can't control usage of it.

Although....

Firing a couple employees for doing that might have a positive affect on how the phones get answered as well.
