Hello Trendy - I can only speak for GW versions 4.x to 5.5EP. I know of no way to keep an enduser from deleting their e-mails. Control that deep into a users account was not built into the system. This area can also be a very thin piece of legal ice for admins and the company a like. I'm not sure what your reasons for wanting to do this are, and I DO NOT want to know. If the purpose is for placement of data into a digital library. Then your backups could furnish you the solution. By just using your backup medium and burning it to disc. Of course a user could not be deleted as long as you wanted to retrieve the data for that account, need to keep FID\Pointer association. Trouble is it ties up a license even though account is disabled.
If this is not the case, then would CF (Content Filtering) be an alternate route to take. With the cost of leasing this service from Third Party, it makes it a viable alternative to buying and maintaining for my organization and our 10k plus users. This type of checking is, for good or bad, being implemented more and more each day. It pays for itself just in the amount of Spamming it stops. Federal laws dictate that we use CF just because of the nature of business we are in. You still have total control over the CF settings, dictionaries, filters, notifications, and such. All administration on your part is Web based.
Wish I could help you more, but that's as far as I feel that I can go on this subject. But, I beleive with the flexibility of GW plus an innovative admin, an answer can probably be found for any GW problem or issue. Don't forget the GroupWise Cool Solutions site. There is a lot of good tips & tricks on the site. Good Luck! FarOut
