A string type field in a report is used to display classified ads. The field in the report is currently left justified. Is there any way to have the report pull the data without any specific justification, but rather the format it was entered into the system originally? Thanks

Data isn't stored in a particular formatting in any database that I'm aware of, certainly none of the big kid databases, although you can specify it in certain output operations.

Try posting technical information, such as:

Crystal version
Database used
Example data
Expected output

In your case designate what the output is intended to be for each field. You can align data however you'd like within Crystal by using the formatting icons on the Formatting toolbar or by right clicking any field and selecting Format Field.

We use crystal9 with sql server 2000. The data is stored as a rich text file in the database and an example would be any typical classified ad. Sometimes they are entered and stored in the RTF as left justified, sometimes as full justified. In the report, a particular field displays the contents of the RTF and here is where the issue comes in. The field itself in design mode is justified left but we want the report to show the original justification, as it was in the RTF. Anyone know what I mean or how to do that?
