can you skip a slot

can you skip a slot in partner acs??have partner acs with vm. set up 206 206 processor.what happening is when put in vm cart to right of processor it dosent light up ,but if put in last slot it will???I allways thought you couldnt skip a slot????? thanks

No slot skipping allowed. Check to see which ports are assigned to Hunt Group #7.

Story time- Inherited customer had old 2 cabinet Partner, first cab full of 206's- second cab, exp processor, 1 206 in slot 1, VS mail in slot 3 (slot 2 empty, vmail would not power up in slot 2). They had several power outages requiring reprogramming and occasional replacement 206's on T&M service calls, (after 10 or so trips, they bought the UPS). Around trip 8, the voice mail decided that it wanted to work only in slot 2, like it is supposed to do. I think that Partner was haunted.
