Hi All,

Can any one tell me if it is possible to search a word document for key words using Access 2000. Each record will have a word document attached and the user will have to enter a search criteria. Hopefuly all the relevent records with the key word can be pulled out and the word document opened.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Cashe

I've only played with it a little and did not do a thorough test; however, Access does have a FileSearch object that when combined with its TextOrProperty property can target a text string in basically any Microsoft Office file type.

You would use the LookIn property to limit the search to a specific directory/folder(s).

Thanks Cani,

I'll give it a go and let you know how I get on.
