Can you schedule reports using CE V8.0?

I've been using Seagate Info 7 for a while now and one of the most helpful features is the report scheduling engine.

However I now have Crystal Reports V8.5 which shipped with a free copy of Crystal Enterprise V8 and I cannot see where Crystal Enterprise V8 has a scheduling engine?

Basically I produce a wide range of reports currently which my faithful Info 7 server schedules in a myriad of different formats, delivered via a myriad of different mediums - ie printer, e-mail, disk etc

I've been told CE 8.5 will address this but without maintenance I'm looking at a huge upgrade bill.

What I'd like is either to schedule reports in CE V8.0 or have any reports I create in CR8.5 get scheduled via Info7.

Any ideas?

You only get the bare bones basic with Crystal 8 standard. There is scheduling etc with 8.5. I just yesterday received and email about a new "cut price" program for upgrading to 8.5 pro, so you might check pricing again (as I recall you could get a 5 user license (instead of the previous minimum of 10) for about 8500.. definitely a cut.

Info 7 is only semi-compatible with scheduling Crystal Reports 8.5 objects.

If you utilise any of 8.5s new functionality (like MonthName or DateDiff - anything since Info 7), Info will dump the job mid process, as it won't recognise the function.

Independent scheduling applications like Chronicle can handle report management, I believe, if the Crystal upgrade fee is making you baulk.

Yes, but not in standard version, you have to buy a Pro or Advanced version, but Enterprise 8.5 is much better than 8 in terms of functionalities.
