I have created a SSIS package in bids to move data from an Excel file to an AS400.

I will want to deploy this package to a client machine to run.

To run a .dtsx on the client machine, I need to install the .Net framework and the SSIS runtime.

To install the SSIS runtime I asume I have to install from the SQL Server installation CD.

My question is...do I need a licence on the client machine to install and use the SSIS runtime?

Dazed and confused

SSIS is a server component. To run a SSIS package you need to license and install the full SSIS server, there is no client only. A machine that hosts SSIS packages must be licensed as a full SQL Server, a CAL is not sufficient.
