Can you run code in the background ?

Is there anyway to have code running but still have the ability to use excel ?

Not unless you are running an external routine.

What code do you want to run - It may be possible to achieve something using OnTime, which allows you to run specified procedures at a given time, or given intervals.

However once such code is invoked, it will not be in the background.
