Can you re-use meta data?

Hi

I am trying to figure out how to create standard meta data for all my document libraries across multiple sites in SPS. Is this possible? I want to avoid having to create the same meta data for every document library and having to update every document library when I have changes to meta data.

Please let me know if anyone has done this before.
