Is it possible to query/write to the CE database directly? I find the CMC to be a bit limited in bulk scheduling reports and even APOS InfoScheduler can fall a bit short at times so I was wondering if it is possible to hit the CE database directly. My thought is to write some scripts that would do updates to the tables that hold the scheduling info. I haven't really thought through this too much yet since I don't even know if it's possible.

Thoughts?

Much of the data is stored in a BLOB or some such, so it's no small undertaking, that.

Try to explain specifics, stating it falls short doesn't say anything technical.

If I were to attempt to simplify tasks for large quantities of reports, I'd consider writing something to manipulate and execute the Apos worksheets.

What sort of quantity of reports are you scheduling?
How many paramters?
How often do they run?
How often do the reports, parameters and/or schedules change?

We run a couple of thousand reports a month (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly) on CE-10 and have found the APOS InfoScheduler plus some smart report/parameter design make it fairly easy for us to manaage...but by no means automated.

Probably 1/2 a person day of Admin per month.

rpt inspector has an Ad on this site. You can do mass scheduling updates with their product. Since it is done in memory maybe 25-50 reports at a time is practical.
