I have placed a combo box on a word document to allow the user to select specific information. however i am unable to populate the combo box. I know that in access you use the "row source" property to populate the combo box. But the property doesnt exist for the box in word2000. I havnt tried it in word97 yet.

Can someone push me in the right direction. You would be doing me a great favour.

thanks

Hej Viking,

What sort of combobox did you put in the doc? Is it one from the Forms toolbar? If so, right-click the box, choose Properties - or use the icon with the hand holding a card from the toolbar. Type an item in the Item box and click Add to add it to the list.
A disadvantage of the Forms combobox is that you must protect the document or the section with the box for it to work. For a very clever way to put pop-up lists into a Word document, without having to protect anything at all, go to the Word MVP site: It's amazing what the maestros there can do with Word!

Hi and thnx for the reply,
This is where the problem occurs!!
I opened the properties and there is no item box to add info. I have tried in Office2000 and Office97 , no luck.

I will have a look at the site you gave.

thanks again.

Oops, looks like you refer to the ComboBox of the Toolbox and not the one used for (Word) Forms with Form Fields. The ComboBox from the Toolbox is quite a different animal. Such a ComboBox is polpulated via VBA code (AddItem method).
