I am setting up laptops for my outside users. I use Norton Ghost to make an image and just distribute that image as needed. In an effor to 'streamline' my efforts (we are in the planning stages of computer upgrades) I was thinking about making a mandatory profile on my image so when I set up a user on the machine, I don't have to configure common settings...you know the drill.

Is this possible? My users do not log into the domain controller except when I create the account initially, and all I have found regarding Mandatory profiles is server-based.

Am I off my rocker or should this be possible?

JediMasterJamie,

Yes, you can make local profiles mandatory.

You will have to set up a folder on the local machine, name is something easy, like "Profiles".
You will also have to open up the properties of the user and enter the path to this "Profiles" folder on the users profiles tab.
In addition you will have to change the extension on the NTUSER.DAT file to NTUSER.MAN.

Hope this helps,
