can you limit # of characters in tb's - or character types?

I have an input textbox and I want the user to only be able to enter 3 NUMBERS ONLY max.
If they input antyhing else or more than 3 numbers I want to be able to clear the input textbox and attach a mc which will be the error message.

How is this done?

my_txt.restrict = "0-9";

Will only allow to enter 0 to 9 characters...

And you can limit the number to 3 in the Maximum characters box, in the textfield's properties...
