I will have files sent from various companies that contain the parameters for Crystal reports. I would like to save the files, read them with Java in batch, pass parameters to Crystal, generate a report and direct the output.

Can I do this with Crystal in batch and if so, where can I find the information. So far I have not found it in the User's Guide.

Thanks.

cflat: You will need to use the Developer Edition of Crystal if you are using v8 or the Professional Version if earlier. This will enable you to create an app which will incorporate the facility to call an existing report, fill it with data and output it and then repeat for the next in the batch etc. These versions come with full Developer Help to explain how this is done David C. I have Crystal Reports 8 Developer Edition. I have been scouring the documentation on how to submit a report using a batch command with parameters but can not find any refrence to any batch operations. Everything references GUI interfaces. I am missing something here.

cflat: No you're not missing anything. The 'normal' expectation would be that you would code a VB or similar COM language app to enable this rather than seek to run it through batch commands. David C. Monks
